Conical Leather Back Quiver with Scalloped Edge for 30 Arrows
Functional Design with Historical Flair
While infantrymen and hunters in the Middle Ages often used simpler cylindrical quivers, the conical (funnel-like) shape represents a more advanced and highly favoured solution. The widened opening of the quiver facilitates the rapid and smooth drawing of an arrow blindly, which is crucial in the heat of battle or on a hunt. The wide upper edge, further embellished here with a wavy cut-out and a contrasting light thread, allows the fletchings of the arrows to spread out freely. Back quivers worn diagonally across the shoulder provided the archer with freedom of movement when navigating difficult terrain. You secure this model using a leather strap, the length of which can be easily adjusted with a classic brass buckle.

How to Properly Care for Your Quiver
Leather is a natural material that can dry out and crack without maintenance. To preserve the flexibility and beautiful appearance of the quiver, regularly treat it with a leather balm containing beeswax or a high-quality leather oil. These products nourish the leather and help protect it against morning dew or light rain. Bear in mind that after applying the balm, the leather will darken slightly and acquire an authentic patina. If the quiver gets wet at an event, allow it to dry slowly at normal room temperature. Never dry it near the radiant heat of a fire, on a radiator, or in direct sunlight, as this could lead to irreversible damage and hardening of the leather.
Safe Wearing and Handling
Adjust the quiver on your back so that you have easy access to the opening with your dominant hand, but ensuring the arrows do not fall out when you bend over. Although the conical shape protects the fletchings, be careful not to catch the feathers on branches when moving through dense undergrowth. If you are using arrows with sharp broadheads or target points, exercise increased caution when placing the arrows into the quiver so as not to cut through the bottom of the quiver or injure yourself. Always draw only one arrow at a time from the quiver and be aware of your surroundings.
We highly recommend you purchase an archery bracer and a high-quality set of wooden arrows with natural feathers from our range to accompany this beautiful back quiver.
