This armour is made of the following material: Steel plate according to the standard CSN EN 10 204 (DIN 50 049); steel mark DC 01 Am; chemical melting analysis: C 0,04%, Mn 0,34%, Si 0,01%, S 0,008%, yield point 182 Mpa, tensile strenght 310Mpa, tensibility A80 43%

It is just hand-hammered, not tempered. But the steel is hard enough, to suit its purpose.
