The historical model for this headwear dates back to the late 17th and 18th centuries. During this era, from the High Baroque to the Rococo, the tricorn hat (or tricorne) was the absolute standard in civil and military men's fashion across Europe and the overseas colonies. The originally broad brim of the hat was turned up and pinned to the crown on three sides so that the edges would not get in the way when gentlemen carried muskets on their shoulders, and to prevent rainwater from running down their faces. It soon became a fashion hit worn by princes, officers, burghers, and feared corsairs and pirates in the Caribbean.

The product is made from 100% cotton processed into a thick felt, which holds its shape excellently and protects the head from the sun and cold. An added advantage of pure cotton is its good breathability. The edge of the brim is richly decorated with an elegant lace (braid) woven from shiny metallic fibres, which stands out beautifully against the black background and gives the garment an aristocratic appearance.

Felt Hat Care and Safety

To ensure this felt hat retains its solid shape over the long term and the metallic lace does not lose its shine, proper care is required. The product must under no circumstances be machine washed, soaked in water, or tumble dried. In the event of dust or light surface dirt, we recommend cleaning it very carefully dry using a soft clothes brush. In case of heavy soiling, entrust the hat exclusively to a professional dry cleaner. Store it in a dry place, ideally on a hat stand or stuffed with clean paper in a box, to prevent irreversible deformation or denting. Do not use the hat as a protective helmet; it is purely a costume accessory without any safety certifications.
