Historical Context and Usage

Pouches and purses suspended from a belt were an absolutely essential part of the equipment for every pilgrim, burgher, and merchant from the Middle Ages right through to the early modern period. In times when everyday clothing lacked sewn-in pockets, they were the only secure place to store valuables and small items of daily use. This specific shape, with its elaborate stitching on the flap, is loosely inspired by rural and craftsmen's bags of the late 18th century. However, its timeless and versatile design fits perfectly into earlier epochs or diverse fantasy realms alike.

Usage Instructions and Proper Care

Simply attach the pouch to your belt using the wide leather loop on the reverse. The flap is securely fastened by a sturdy leather strap with a small brass-finished buckle, ensuring you will not lose anything even whilst running quickly or engaged in combat. The leather, up to 2.5 mm (0.1 in) thick, is highly durable, but it requires some maintenance to serve you for a long time. To maintain its natural suppleness and increase its resistance to rain, we recommend treating the surface with a high-quality beeswax leather balm before the first use and at regular intervals thereafter.

Safety and Warnings

Like any genuine natural leather product, this pouch requires proper care. Never wash it in a washing machine and do not expose it to unnecessary soaking in water. If you get soaked to the bone at a LARP event, let the leather dry slowly at normal room temperature. Rapid drying on a radiator or by the direct flames of a campfire would irreversibly dry out, warp, and crack the leather. Any other equipment shown in the photographs is not included.
