Practical Use and Expert Advice

Before taking your first shot, get familiar with the handling. Cocking the FanatiX with the included sled rope cocker requires a smooth, continuous motion, made easier by the 56% let-off of the X-Cam system. For those who prefer mechanical assistance, the FanatiX is fully compatible with the Compact DSC™ Narrow 1.5 crank. The crossbow is equipped with an Anti-Dry Fire safety mechanism to prevent damage, but always ensure your bolt is fully seated against the string before firing. Never rely solely on mechanical safeties – practice safe handling at all times. Recommended Bolts: To achieve the best results, use only 20-inch carbon bolts (such as the Killer Instinct Hypr). The total weight of the bolt, including the tip, should be approximately 390–400 grains. Bolts must be equipped with the V-Track nock or a standard half-moon nock to ensure proper string engagement. The shaft material should be high-modulus carbon with a spine rated for speeds exceeding 400 FPS.

Did you know that the X-Cam technology is a game-changer for synchronization? By ensuring that both cams roll over at the exact same micro-second, it eliminates "cam lean" and vertical string oscillation. This results in a much more "forgiving" shot, meaning that even if your form isn't 100% perfect, the crossbow helps correct the flight of the bolt. This level of technology was once reserved for custom setups costing twice as much.

Maintenance for Long-Lasting Performance

• Wax the Strings and Cables: Apply high-quality bow wax every 5–10 shots to prevent fraying and protect against moisture.
• Rail Lubrication: Apply a thin film of rail lube to the aluminium barrel. The string should slide smoothly; excessive friction will wear out your center serving prematurely.
• Check the Hardware: The energy of a 415 FPS shot creates significant vibration. Periodically check that all screws on the stock, limbs, and scope mount remain tight.
• Proper Storage: Never leave the crossbow cocked for more than a few hours. Store it in a cool, dry place. Avoid leaving it in a hot car, as extreme heat can delaminate the limbs.

What to avoid: Never fire a damaged bolt (check for cracks by flexing the shaft) and never dry-fire the unit. A dry-fire can cause catastrophic failure of the limbs and cams, even with an ADF safety.
