Recommended Crossbow Parameters

HYPR-V bolts are optimized for high-performance compound crossbows with fast arrow speeds. We recommend using them with crossbows featuring a draw weight between 175 lbs and 220 lbs and velocities ranging from 370 to 430 FPS. They are compatible with all Killer Instinct models except the SWAT XP and Furious Pro 9.5.

Maintenance and Care

Perform a flex test before every shot – bend the bolt slightly and listen for any cracking sounds. If it cracks, discard it immediately. Deactivate the lighted nock after the shot according to the instructions (usually by pulling it slightly or pressing a switch) to conserve battery life. Keep the shafts clean and occasionally apply a thin layer of silicone oil for easier removal from targets.

What to avoid?

Never fire into hard objects such as trees, rocks, or concrete walls. Even the highest quality carbon bolt will shatter upon impact with such materials. Also, ensure the nock is always seated firmly against the string before firing – this prevents dangerous dry fires that could destroy both the bolt and your crossbow.

Did you know that lighted nocks aren't just for show? During a hunt, they allow you to see exactly where the bolt impacted (entry wound) and help you locate the bolt even on a blood trail if it passed through the game. The red light color is chosen because it is most visible to the human eye against the greens and browns of the forest.

Recommended Accessories

To achieve maximum terminal performance, I recommend equipping these bolts with 100-grain broadheads. For safe practice, an arrow puller and a high-quality target butt rated for high speeds are essential.
