Age & Height Recommendation
The 48" Little Hero is specifically designed for children aged 6 to 12 years. It is best suited for archers with a height up to approximately 150 cm (4'11"). The lightweight riser (0.96 lbs) prevents arm fatigue, allowing for longer and more productive practice sessions.
Choosing the Right Arrow
Selecting the correct arrow is vital for a good archery experience. For this youth bow, we highly recommend lightweight carbon arrows with the following specs:
- Arrow Length: 26 to 28 inches is usually sufficient for juniors.
- Spine: You need a soft spine to match the low draw weight. Look for a spine rating of 1000, 1100, or 1300.
- Point Weight: A light target point between 60–80 grains will ensure a flat flight path.
- Durability: Carbon is much more durable than wood or aluminium, making it the best choice for beginners who might occasionally miss the target.
Maintenance and Safety
Never "Dry Fire" the bow! Releasing the string without an arrow can cause the limbs to shatter. Always use a bow stringer to brace your bow to prevent limb twist. Store your bow unstrung in a cool, dry place away from direct heat sources.
Recommended Accessories
To complete the setup, we recommend a youth arm guard, a shooting glove or finger tab, and a stick-on arrow rest. A quality foam target is also essential to stop arrows safely and ensure they are easy to pull out.
