Recommended Arrows for the Young Hero
For youth archery and lower draw weights (14–26 lbs), lightweight carbon arrows are the best choice for speed and durability.
- Arrow Length: 26 – 28 inches is standard for this age group. Ensure the arrow is long enough for the child's full draw.
- Shaft Material: Carbon fibre is highly recommended as it won't bend like aluminium or break as easily as wood.
- Spine (Stiffness): Use 1000 spine for 14-20 lbs and 800 spine for 24-26 lbs weights.
- Points: 60–80 grain target points for a balanced flight.
- Fletching: Plastic vanes are perfect when using an arrow rest.
Maintenance and Care
As a Take-Down bow, it’s best to disassemble it after use to keep the limbs in top condition. Regularly apply string wax to the Whisper String to keep it protected from the elements and prevent fraying.
What to avoid:
- Dry Fire: Never release the string without an arrow. This can cause the limbs to crack or shatter.
- Direct Heat: Don't leave the bow in a hot car, as the heat can damage the laminates.
Recommended Accessories
Don’t forget an armguard and a shooting glove for safety. Since it’s a Twin riser, we recommend fitting two adhesive arrow rests (one on each side). A padded bow case is also great for safe storage and transport.
