Why Original Ravin Nocks Matter
The Trac-Trigger Firing System is what makes a Ravin a Ravin. For the system to function correctly, the nock must be seated perfectly within the trigger mechanism. You should hear a distinct "click" when loading your bolt. This confirms that the bolt is locked in place and the anti-dry fire mechanism is disengaged. Using non-branded or damaged nocks can lead to catastrophic equipment failure and poses a significant safety risk. Interesting Fact: The polymer used in these nocks is a proprietary blend designed to handle the extreme friction and heat generated when a bolt leaves the rail at speeds over 450 FPS (approx. 137 metres per second). It’s a small component doing a very heavy job!
Maintenance and Safety Guide
- Always inspect your nocks before every shot for cracks, chips, or signs of material stress (white marks).
- Only use the included black nock tool for installation. This prevents damage to the nock's "ears" and ensures it is seated at the correct depth.
- DO NOT use these nocks with the Ravin R500 Series. The R500 requires a specific nock designed for its high-velocity firing system.
- Keep the nock groove clean. Dirt or excessive wax buildup can prevent the nock from clicking onto the string properly.
- Replace the nock immediately if it no longer provides a firm, audible click when pushed onto the string.
