The main body of the dress is made from a dense wool blend (88% wool) that has been fulled (felted) to increase its density and weather resistance. The standout feature, however, is the trim. The neckline, cuffs, and hem are edged with 100% wool in a diamond twill weave (brown on brown). This lozenge-shaped pattern was a status symbol in the Viking Age, often found in high-status graves. Decorative stitching along the seams completes the authentic look.
