The history of the karambit traces deep back to Southeast Asia, where it originally served as a common agricultural implement inspired by the shape of a tiger's claw. Over time, it evolved into a formidable weapon in traditional martial arts systems such as Pencak Silat. The primary and absolute advantage of this design is the safety retention ring located at the pommel. By inserting your index finger (or pinky finger in a reverse grip) through the ring, it becomes practically impossible to drop the knife during heavy use or be disarmed. For modern tactical applications, the BlackField B.P.K. model is equipped with both a flipper and an ambidextrous thumb stud, allowing for lightning-fast, one-handed blade deployment. A sturdy steel liner lock then securely fixes the blade in place without any play.

Maintenance of the Blade and Skeletonised Handle

The aggressive blade is precisely crafted from high-quality 440 stainless steel and features a matte black anti-reflective coating, which eliminates unwanted glare and adds a layer of protection. Although the steel used is highly resistant to corrosion, we strongly recommend wiping the blade completely dry after cutting damp or acidic materials. To maintain the exceptionally smooth and rapid action of the opening mechanism, it is advisable to occasionally apply a small drop of gun oil directly to the pivot pin. Furthermore, the open, skeletonised construction of the metal handle is not only very lightweight but also incredibly easy to clean out accumulated dust and pocket lint (simply blow it out with compressed air or rinse it).

This tactical tool is supplied from the factory with a razor-sharp blade. Please always bear in mind that it is a fully functional and highly efficient cutting tool. For strict safety reasons, this knife is absolutely not intended for contact martial arts sparring, human-to-human combat training, or self-defence. The fiercely curved hawkbill blade and sharp point could cause fatal injuries. Weighing 120 grams (approx. 4.2 oz) and equipped with a practical pocket clip, it is perfectly suited for discreet everyday carry in your pocket.
