Decorative Roman Dagger with Patinated Scabbard and Red Gems
Detailed Craftsmanship and Ancient Symbolism
This decorative weapon is designed to captivate at first glance with its opulence. The 23.5 cm (9.25 in) blade is made of popular 420 stainless steel and has a characteristic leaf shape, historically optimised for piercing armour. The handle and massive scabbard are precisely cast from metal with a beautiful silver patina. The scabbard is dominated by two prominent circular medallions bordered by a golden laurel wreath, in the centre of which shine large red stones. The entire surface of the scabbard is further decorated with strictly geometric lines and crescents, giving the weapon the unmistakable appearance of a commander's badge of power.
The Badge of Power of Roman Legionaries
The original pugio was a short and wide dagger worn by Roman legionaries from the late Republic until the 3rd century AD. While for the common soldier it was primarily a backup weapon for close combat and an everyday tool, for senior officers (who often wore the even more ornate parazonium), the dagger represented a sign of their status. Such command weapons were often richly decorated with precious metals and enamel. The presented dagger is a beautiful fantasy interpretation of these very luxurious weapons of ancient patricians and generals.
Safe Usage Guidelines
This dagger is designed and manufactured exclusively as a decorative display piece and prop. The stainless steel blade and cast metal handle are not constructed for any mechanical stress. For safety reasons, we strongly warn you: the weapon is not intended for martial arts training, historical contact fencing, cutting tests, or any practical use. Use it only for decorative purposes to avoid destroying it or causing yourself injury.

Care and Maintenance of the Weapon
To maintain the beautiful silver appearance and patina, we recommend gently dusting the cast metal scabbard and handle only with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. Although the stainless steel blade is highly resistant, it is advisable to occasionally treat it with the legendary Ballistol universal oil to remove any fingerprints and ensure long-term protection.
