Opulent Silver Execution with Details
This decorative weapon is designed to impress with its elaborate aesthetic. It consists of:
- Blade: It has the characteristic shape of the Roman Pugio – a wide blade optimized for thrusting attacks. It is made of 420 Stainless Steel and its length is 23.5 cm (9.3 inches). The blade is decorative, not sharpened, and not intended for combat.
- Hilt: It is cast from metal (Die Casting) with a patinated silver-coloured finish that highlights the geometrical engraving. The crossguard is rectangular with circular openings set with red decorative stones. The pommel is divided into two sections and decorated with additional red stones.
- Sheath: It is also cast from metal (Die Casting) with a silver finish. It is richly decorated with precise geometric and Nordic motifs featuring elements of red enamel/resin. The sheath is complemented by numerous silver rivets/bosses around the perimeter and striking ruby-red stones set into central circular medallions and on the tip. The upper part is decorated with a stylized mask or ornament in red and silver.
The Pugio – A Crossroad of Styles and History
The original Pugio (Latin for dagger) was an important personal weapon of Roman legionaries. However, this replica also draws inspiration from the Celtic and Viking artistic styles, which were characterized by rich and often geometric decoration of metal objects, including sword sheaths. The Pugio in this version thus represents a fanciful blend of the ancient blade shape with an Early Medieval, opulent metalwork style that emphasizes majesty and richness.

The 420 stainless steel blade is not intended for practical use, and its design does not meet the criteria for weapons in contact sparring or training. Care and Recommended Accessories
To maintain the lustre of the silver metal and the stones, we recommend regularly wiping the dagger with a dry, soft cloth and protecting it from high humidity. The stainless steel blade is durable, but occasional treatment with Ballistol universal oil will keep it in perfect condition. For a complete costume, any leather belt with a prominent buckle (e.g., SKU: 13246) would be an excellent match.
