The shield features a classic round shape with a surface imitating wooden planks, finished in a deep blue colour. The wood grain texture adds realism to the surface. The shield's rim and the prominent central shield boss (umbo) have a finish imitating aged, dark metal, complemented by suggested rivets around the boss. The total depth of the shield, including the boss, is approximately 9 cm.

The dominant design element is the copper-brown, winding lines resembling snakes that radiate outwards from the central boss towards the shield's edge. This motif directly references the Gorgons, mythological creatures with snakes for hair.
