Design and Craftsmanship
This tunic is based on the classic "T-tunic" cut, which was standard in the Early Middle Ages. The main aesthetic feature is the intricate embroidery around the keyhole neckline. The knotwork motif references Viking art styles (such as Borre or Jellinge) and adds status and elegance to the garment. The deep navy blue colour combined with the golden thread creates a beautiful contrast that looks great both in photos and in person.
The tunic is made from lightweight cotton. Although wool or linen would be the most historically accurate materials, cotton offers a great alternative for those seeking a fabric that is soft against the skin, easy to care for, and affordable. Usage in History and Today
From the 9th to the 11th century, the tunic was the cornerstone of the male wardrobe across Europe, including Scandinavia. It was worn belted, with a knife, pouch, and other necessities hanging from the waist. Decorations around the neck and hems often served not only as ornamentation but also had an apotropaic (protective) function against evil spirits.

- Iron on low heat and always inside out to protect the embroidery.
