Men's Renaissance Cotton Shirt with Lace-up Neck and Buttoned Cuffs
Historical Context and Practical Use of the Garment
Shirts with loose sleeves and laced necklines are strongly inspired by the fashion of the Renaissance and early modern periods, when they became a necessary piece of clothing across all social classes. They were worn by simple sailors, brave mercenaries, and noble cavaliers under their richly decorated doublets. The intentionally loose cut of the sleeves, which gather at the wrists into elegant cuffs provided with a row of small buttons, gave men the necessary flexibility for both combat and labour. Although the lacing holes at the neck are fitted with metal eyelets (a modern concession for durability and lower production costs, as holes were hand-stitched with thread in the Middle Ages), the overall impression remains highly authentic. The shirt is available in two classic colours: versatile black and natural white.
Material and Proper Care of the Shirt
The shirt is manufactured from 100% high-quality cotton. This natural fabric is characterised by excellent absorbency and breathability, which you will appreciate especially during hot summer festivals and demanding physical activities. To maintain the fabric's strength and rich colour, we recommend machine washing the shirt at a maximum of 30 °C (86 °F) on a gentle cycle. Completely avoid using bleach or tumble drying; instead, let the garment air dry freely while hung on a coat hanger. You can iron it on a medium heat setting suitable for cotton fabrics. Please note that any other accessories shown in the photographs, such as trousers, silver rings, necklaces, or historical weapons, are not included in the delivery and serve only as inspiring decoration.
