Articulated Plate Arms with Elbow and Hand Guard, 15th Century Style
Detailed Armour Description
Each piece is carefully handcrafted and assembled to serve you reliably in battle. The inside is coated with black paint for rust prevention.
Functional and Thoughtful Design
- Integrated Elbow Protection: The heart of the guard is a solid elbow cop, equipped with a side wing to protect the vulnerable inner elbow.
- Articulated Vambrace: The forearm guard itself is constructed from several articulated steel lames, allowing for natural and unrestricted wrist movement.
- Back-of-Hand Guard: The armour seamlessly extends into a plate that guards the metacarpals. This means you don't need separate gauntlets for basic hand protection.
- Secure Strapping System: Two robust straps made of genuine leather on the forearm ensure the armour stays firmly in place. A third strap, which runs across the palm, secures the hand guard, preventing it from shifting even in the heat of combat.
Customize Your Armour
This isn't a one-size-fits-all product. Choose the combination that best suits your style and requirements:
- Finish: Polished Steel for the look of a noble knight, or Blackened Steel for the rugged appearance of a mercenary or villain.
- Steel Thickness:
- 1.0 mm (20 gauge): Ideal for costumes, theatre, and LARP without hard contact.
- 1.2 mm (18 gauge): A great all-rounder for most LARP battles and light historical fencing.
- 1.6 mm (16 gauge): The most durable option, suitable for choreographed combat and more demanding events.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: While the 1.6mm version is very durable, this armour is not certified for full-contact, competitive sports such as HMB, buhurt, or the Battle of the Nations.

Arm Protection in History
In the 14th and 15th centuries, plate armour reached its zenith. Arm protection was crucial, and smiths developed complex systems combining vambraces, elbow cops, and gauntlets. This integrated design represents an efficient solution that provided excellent protection and was popular among a wide range of warriors, from knights to city militias.
A Fun Fact From History
Did you know that one of the most vulnerable spots on a fully armoured knight was the inside of the elbow? This is precisely why armourers began adding characteristic "wings" to elbow cops, to protect this area from a dagger or sword thrust during close-quarters combat.
How to Care for Your New Armour
Keep your investment in perfect condition. Always wipe the armour dry after use. Regularly treat it with a thin layer of oil (like Ballistol) to protect it from rust. Keep the leather parts conditioned with a leather care product to ensure they remain strong and supple. A quality product by Lord of Battles®.
