In the Viking Age, cloaks were fastened at the shoulder with prominent brooches, known as fibulae. These were not merely functional but also served as jewelry and a badge of social status. The more ornate and expensive the material of the brooch, the wealthier and more important its owner. Care Instructions

To keep your embroidered woolen cloak looking its best for as long as possible, we recommend the following care:

• Washing: Due to the delicate embroidery and natural material, we strongly recommend professional dry cleaning. If washing is absolutely necessary, do so very gently by hand in cold water using a wool-specific detergent.
• Drying: Never tumble dry the cloak. The best method is to dry it flat, for example, laid out over several drying racks, to prevent the fibers from stretching and the garment from losing its shape.
• Ironing: Iron only on a low heat setting (wool setting), ideally through a dry pressing cloth and from the reverse side to protect the embroidery.
