Wood Care and Safety Guidelines
The bowl is supplied in a natural state without any chemical varnishes. Proper care is essential to ensure it serves you for years to come and to prevent the wood from cracking. Before its first use, it is absolutely necessary to thoroughly treat the wood with a high-quality, food-safe oil (such as linseed or walnut oil) to seal the pores and protect it from moisture. Under no circumstances should you wash the bowl in a dishwasher or place it in a microwave. Aggressive chemicals and extreme temperature fluctuations will cause irreversible warping and cracking. After a meal, simply wash it by hand with lukewarm water and a tiny drop of mild detergent, then dry it immediately. Do not leave it submerged in water for prolonged periods and do not serve boiling liquids in it, as this could damage the material or cause scalding.
