Loose Chainmail Rings, Round Ring Round Rivet, 8 mm, 18G, 1 kg
Durability and Construction
Unlike simple "butted" mail, which can pull apart under stress, these rings are designed to be riveted. This construction method significantly increases the structural integrity of the weave, making it suitable for contact reenactment and providing a much more historically accurate appearance. These specific rings are Round Rings with Round Rivets (Dome Rivets), made from reliable mild steel.
The 18-gauge wire thickness combined with an 8 mm inner diameter offers an excellent balance between weight and protection, making it a standard choice for medieval mail armor.
Package Contents and Usage
This product is sold by weight. A 1 kg (approx. 2.2 lbs) bag contains approximately 3300 rings and a matching set of dome rivets. Please note that proper riveting tongs (not included) are required to successfully close the rivets. The finish is natural steel, which may come slightly oiled to prevent rust during storage.

Maintenance Instructions
As these rings are made of mild steel, they are susceptible to rust if not cared for properly. Keep the rings stored in a dry place. We recommend keeping them lightly coated with mineral oil or a specialized armor preservative (like WD-40) to prevent oxidation. Your finished armor piece will require similar regular maintenance.
