Simple Leather Bracers
Reliable Protection and a Stylish Accessory
These forearm guards are designed with an emphasis on simplicity and functionality. The smooth surface in classic black or natural brown and the clean lines make them a versatile accessory that you can easily combine with the rest of your gear. The main function, of course, is protection. For archers, they provide an indispensable barrier against the painful and potentially dangerous slap of the bowstring. In sword fighting and combat, they protect the forearm from scrapes and light cuts or blows.
Putting them on is very easy. You place the bracer on your forearm and use the leather thong to lace it up and tighten it so that it sits firmly and comfortably. This allows you to adjust the tightness precisely to your needs.
Forearm Protection Through the Ages
Forearm protection, known as a bracer or vambrace, is one of the oldest and most widespread pieces of personal armour. Its roots trace back to antiquity. Archers across cultures – from the ancient Egyptians to the English longbowmen at Crécy – used leather or bone guards to protect the inner forearm from the lash of the bowstring. For warriors armed with a sword and shield, the forearm was often a vulnerable target. While wealthier knights could afford metal plate armour, common soldiers and mercenaries relied on more affordable versions made from hardened leather, just like these.
Fun fact: Ötzi the Iceman, whose 5,300-year-old body was found in the Alps, was equipped with an archer's bracer, demonstrating just how ancient and essential this piece of equipment is.

How to Care for Your Bracers
To ensure these leather arm guards serve you for as long as possible and maintain their appearance, proper care is important. Keep the leather dry. If the bracers get wet, let them air dry at room temperature – never dry them on a radiator or near a direct heat source. From time to time, you can treat them with a leather care product (wax or oil) to keep them supple and protected. Store them in a dry, ventilated place, ideally laid flat to prevent deformation.
Important Notice: Although these bracers are made from sturdy leather, they are primarily an accessory for LARP, cosplay, and stage combat. They are not certified as personal protective equipment and do not provide sufficient protection for full-contact combat sports such as buhurt (HMB).
