Tactical Outdoor Survival Machete with Sawback and Blackened Blade
History and Tactical Use of Machetes
Machetes have a very long and rich history. Across continents, from South America to Southeast Asia, they served for centuries as a primary agricultural tool, particularly for harvesting sugar cane and clearing impenetrable jungle trails. Over time, however, due to their crushing efficiency and their ability to aid in building improvised shelters, they also found their way into the standard military equipment of many armies. This offered model brings a modern take with a tactical matte blackening that prevents unwanted reflections in the forest. Furthermore, the spine of the blade is cleverly equipped with an aggressive saw that easily tackles thicker branches and trunks where a simple chop would no longer suffice.
Safe Handling and Proper Maintenance
The 420 stainless steel blade is very sharp from the factory. For safety reasons, we strongly warn you that this is purely a working and outdoor tool, not a weapon intended for contact fencing, historical combat training, LARP, or stage battles. When chopping vegetation, always maintain a safe distance from other people, ensure a solid stance, and make sure the tool does not slip from your hand during a swing.
Thanks to the use of stainless steel, the machete is very low-maintenance. After demanding work in the woods, simply wipe the blade with a damp cloth, dry it carefully, and lightly coat it with gun oil before storing it in the supplied nylon sheath to preserve the perfect condition of the surface finish. The hard plastic handle is highly resistant to moisture and impacts, but we strongly advise against washing the tool in a dishwasher; aggressive chemicals and hot water could permanently damage both the plastic and the blade's blackening.
With this practical machete, we recommend purchasing a high-quality pocket sharpening stone to maintain perfect sharpness in the field, as well as a sturdy canteen, which is an absolute must-have for any expedition away from civilisation.
