Genuine Horn Bowl with Handles, Polished, Various Sizes
A Stylish Accessory for Any Occasion
This horn bowl is incredibly versatile. Use it at your campsite during a re-enactment or SCA event to serve stew, porridge, or a lukewarm (but not boiling!) soup. At a LARP, it serves wonderfully as a bowl for game coins or dice, as you can see in the picture. At home, it becomes an original decoration – perfect for fruit, nuts, or as a catch-all bowl for keys and trinkets. Thanks to the two small handles on the sides, it's easy to carry, even when full.
From the History of Horn
Horn products have been with humanity since time immemorial. Unlike pottery, horn was much more resistant to breaking and also lighter. It was readily available as a by-product of cattle farming. It was used to make not only drinking horns and spoons, but also combs, knife handles, and, of course, bowls. The ability to shape horn with heat and steam allowed craftsmen to create a wide range of everyday objects, prized for their functionality and natural beauty.

How to Care for Your Bowl (Important!)
To ensure your bowl serves you beautifully for a long time, please follow these guidelines:
- Wash the bowl by hand only, using lukewarm water and a little mild soap.
- Dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth immediately after washing.
- To maintain its lustre and suppleness, you can rub it with a little edible oil (e.g., coconut or flaxseed oil) from time to time.
What to Avoid at All Costs!
Horn is a natural material and cannot withstand extreme treatment:
- NEVER put the bowl in the dishwasher. The hot water and harsh detergents will damage it irreparably.
- NEVER put it in the microwave.
- It is not suitable for boiling hot drinks, soups, or foods. High heat can damage the lacquer and the structure of the horn.
- Do not store liquids with an alcohol content above 20% in it.
- Do not leave highly acidic foods (like vinegar or citrus juice) in it for extended periods.
- Do not leave the bowl soaking in water for a long time.
Please Note: This is a handmade product from a natural material. Each piece is a complete original and may vary significantly in colour, grain, shape, and exact dimensions from the product photographs.
