Italian Kettle Hat about 1460 1.2mm
The kettle hat, also called “Chapel de Fer” in French, is the ideal helmet for footmen, crossbowmen, spearmen billmen and vougiers. It was hugely popular among medieval armies because of its versatility and good balance between protection and mobility. Just pair it with one of this chainmail coifs, and you will get an optimum combination for your next LARP or re-enactment, offering a great look without hampering your vision and freedom of movement.
This gorgeous, historical reproduction of a 1460 Italian Kettle Hat is handmade from 18-gauge mild steel, lined with a comfortable and secure leather liner. A circumference of approx. 68cm makes it fit almost all head sizes. And a sturdy chin strap closed with a lovely brass buckle will help keep your helmet in place during all your battles.
