Three-Piece Forged Cutlery Set with Twisted Handle, Stainless Steel
Authentic Look, Modern Convenience
This cutlery set from House of Warfare is the perfect compromise between history and practicality. Each piece is designed to look like it came from a forge, yet it offers the convenience of modern utensils.
- Material: The entire set is made from stainless steel. This is a huge advantage over historical carbon steel—the cutlery is resistant to rust, has no metallic aftertaste, and is very easy to clean.
- Design: The handles feature a blackened finish that mimics forge scale. The functional parts (the bowl of the spoon, the tines of the fork, and the edge of the knife) are polished for safe and hygienic dining.
- Handles: The characteristic twist in the middle of the handles is not only a beautiful detail but also prevents slipping and ensures a firm grip.
- Practicality: All three pieces have a hole at the end of the handle, so you can tie them together with a leather thong or cord and conveniently hang them from your belt or pack.

A Brief History: When Did the Fork Appear?
While the knife and spoon have been with us since time immemorial, the fork is a relatively "modern" invention in Europe. In the Middle Ages, it was perfectly common to eat with your hands, a knife (which everyone carried), and a spoon for soups or pottage. Forks did exist but were considered a luxurious, even effeminate, oddity, first appearing (around the 14th century) in wealthy Italian cities. The fork did not spread to the rest of Europe, such as France or England, as a common dining tool until the 17th and 18th centuries. This two-pronged variant is typologically one of the oldest forms, used mainly for spearing and serving meat.
Care Instructions
Although the set is made from stainless steel, we recommend the following to preserve the beautiful blackened finish on the handles:
- Hand Wash: Wash the cutlery by hand in lukewarm water with mild soap.
- No Dishwasher: Harsh detergents and high temperatures in a dishwasher could damage and strip the blackened finish over time.
- Dry Immediately: After washing, dry the cutlery immediately with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
