Easton Beginner Archery Set with Ambidextrous Recurve Bow, Pink and Black Accessories
Detailed Overview of the Bow and Its Usage
This modern practice bow features a lightweight, slim grey polymer riser and black, highly durable fibreglass-reinforced limbs. Thanks to the clever design incorporating a dual arrow rest, the bow is completely ambidextrous – you can shoot comfortably regardless of your dominant hand. The draw weight ranges from 10 to 20 lbs (approx. 4.5 - 9 kg), making it the ideal weight for youth aged 8–18 or adult beginners who primarily need to build muscle memory and technique without straining themselves.
Premium accessories are included in the delivery. The striking pink side quiver, made of tough 600D fabric, securely holds up to a dozen arrows and can be easily attached to your belt or trousers using the integrated clip. The bow also comes with three high-quality Easton 1816 aluminium arrows in matching pink, measuring 28 inches (71 cm) in length and fitted with plastic vanes. For your safety, a black polymer arm guard is provided in the kit, and the Dacron bowstring comes pre-installed with finger guards (finger savers), meaning you won't need a traditional archery glove. The bow is delivered disassembled. Before your first shooting session, you must attach the limbs to the riser and carefully string the bow. The included sight and arrow rest can be installed according to your personal preference and dominant hand.

A Piece of Archery History
Recurve bows are characterised by limbs that curve away from the archer at the tips. This design is not a modern invention – it was used historically by ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and later with devastating success by Asian horsemen (such as the Mongols). The curve allows the bow to store and deliver more energy to the arrow than a traditional straight longbow of the same length. Today, the recurve bow is the only type of bow permitted in the Olympic Games.
How to Care for Your Bow
- Wax the string regularly: Use a dedicated bowstring wax to prevent fraying and significantly extend the life of your string.
- Unstring the bow after use: If you do not plan to use the bow for the next few days, remove the string. This relieves the tension on the limbs and prevents them from gradually losing their elasticity. We highly recommend using a bow stringer for safe stringing and unstringing.
- Storage: Store the bow in a dry place at room temperature. Avoid extreme heat (e.g., inside a car boot in summer) or damp environments.
What You Must Absolutely Avoid
The golden rule of archery is: never dry fire your bow. If you draw the string and release it without a nocked arrow, all the stored energy that would normally transfer into the flying arrow is violently forced back into the limbs of the bow. This destructive force can lead to the immediate snapping of the limbs, a snapped string, and severe injury to the archer. Furthermore, never subject the bow to lateral pressure, and do not shoot with damaged or cracked arrows.
Recommended Accessories
To start your training immediately and safely, we recommend purchasing a quality target butt designed for lower draw-weight bows. Don't forget paper target faces as well. For easier maintenance and a longer lifespan of your bow, string wax and a bow stringer (to aid in safely putting the string on) will prove invaluable. Since three arrows can quickly get lost or damaged during intensive practice, consider buying an extra set of replacement aluminium or carbon arrows of the appropriate length and spine.
