Noble Gauntlet Glass Goblet with Crest and Brass Rivets

Armour Worthy of a King

The base of this goblet is a glass vessel set into a holder made of high-quality polyresin. The design of the gauntlet is inspired by ceremonial armour. The surface imitates polished steel with a battle patina, contrasting with rows of small brass-coloured rivets on the knuckles and the back of the hand. The cuff of the gauntlet is decorated with a relief crest featuring lions, referencing the high status of the wearer. The bottom rim and base are decorated with gold floral ornamentation, which ensures stability and visually anchors the entire goblet.

The "grip" of the gauntlet deserves special attention. The index finger and thumb meet in a gesture that historically often indicated precision or the holding of finer objects, while the other fingers loosely follow the shape of the glass. Inside the palm, the texture of chainmail is visible.

Historical Insight: Rivets and Heraldry

On this replica, you can see elements typical of 15th and 16th-century armour. Brass rivets on the plates served not only to connect individual lames (allowing the hand to move) but, on more expensive armour, also had a decorative function. Gold rivet heads often signalled the knight's wealth. The crest placed on the cuff (wrist) was less common directly on armour in real history but frequently appeared on surcoats or shields. Here, it serves as a symbol of lineage and pride.

How to Care for the Goblet

This goblet is a combination of glass and artistically crafted resin, so it requires gentle handling:

  • Washing: Wash only the glass part by hand with lukewarm water and detergent. Wipe the outer resin part with a damp cloth. Never put the goblet in the dishwasher – the hand painting would be destroyed.
  • Temperature: Intended for cold and lukewarm drinks. Boiling water could cause the glass to crack at the point where it meets the resin.
  • Safety: This product does not belong in a microwave oven.
  • Handling: Be careful of drops onto hard surfaces (tiles, concrete); while the resin is strong, it can be brittle.

For the perfect atmosphere, we recommend complementing this goblet with pewter tableware or a stylish tablecloth with a historical motif.
