Compact EDC Folding Pocket Knife in D2 Tool Steel
Construction and Premium Materials
The foundation of this handy knife is a 65 mm (approx. 2.56 inches) blade made from D2 tool steel. This steel, often referred to as semi-stainless, offers exceptional wear resistance and outstanding cutting performance. The black blade coating not only highlights the tactical aesthetic but also adds an extra layer of protection against atmospheric moisture. The handle scales are precisely milled from red-and-black G10 material (a high-pressure fibreglass and epoxy resin laminate), which is extremely tough, lightweight, and resistant to temperature fluctuations and chemicals. On the back of the handle, you will find a sturdy steel clip for secure carry on your pocket hem or belt, as well as a lanyard hole for a securing cord.
History of Pocket Knives and Modern Application
Folding knives without a locking mechanism, commonly known as slipjoint knives, boast a rich history dating back to ancient Rome, where the first folding knives featuring a friction mechanism were discovered. They experienced their golden age in the 19th and 20th centuries as essential gear for every man, farmer, or tradesman. Today, this concept is celebrating a massive resurgence under the banner of Everyday Carry (EDC). While this model draws upon the historical legacy of simple pocket knives, it propels the concept into the 21st century through the use of high-tech materials and modern ergonomics.
You will find this knife invaluable in everyday situations—from opening cardboard boxes and preparing a snack on a hike, to minor craft work and cutting cordage. It is an unobtrusive yet incredibly effective companion.

Knife Care and Safety Guidelines
D2 steel has a higher carbon content and therefore requires a little more care than standard stainless steel. Cutting acidic fruits or using the knife in damp environments should always be followed by cleaning and drying the blade. We recommend occasionally treating the blade and the pivot joint with a drop of high-quality gun oil. You can keep the edge geometry in pristine condition using a ceramic sharpener or a fine diamond stone.
Important Safety Warning: The blade of this knife lacks a mechanical lock (it cannot be locked open). The blade is held in the open position solely by the pressure of the backspring or friction. If you use the knife for stabbing or apply heavy pressure to the spine of the blade, there is a serious risk of it unexpectedly snapping shut on your fingers! The knife is designed exclusively for regular cutting tasks (slicing or cutting downwards). For safety reasons, this is absolutely not a weapon suitable for contact fencing, self-defence, throwing, or martial arts training.
We recommend pairing this knife with a robust paracord lanyard to create a stylish pull-tab at the end of the handle, and a compact pocket sharpener from our selection to maintain that keen D2 edge wherever your adventures take you.
