Knights Templar Seal – Faux Stone Wall Relief by Marto
Symbolism: Two Knights, One Horse
The dominant motif of the relief is the central seal depicting two riders on a single horse. This iconic image symbolizes the Order's original poverty and the inseparable brotherhood between the knights. Encircling the scene is a Latin inscription in Gothic majuscule: "SIGILLUM MILITUM XPISTI" (Seal of the Soldiers of Christ). The surface of the plaque is intentionally textured to resemble cracked and weathered stone, adding authenticity to the decoration.
Material and Durability
The plaque is made of special sculpting resin (polyresin), which perfectly imitates the texture of sandstone but is lighter and more durable. This material allows for outdoor placement (e.g., on a house façade or garden wall). However, please bear in mind that long-term exposure to direct sunlight and weather conditions may cause the colour to fade slightly over time ("patination"), which is not necessarily a defect for this type of historical decoration.
