Templar Cross – Faux Stone Wall Relief by Marto
Symbolism: A Sign of Courage and Faith
The central motif of the plaque is a raised Cross Pattée, bordered by a circle. This symbol was sacred to the Templars – it shone red on their mantles as a reminder of martyrdom and the determination to lay down their lives for the protection of pilgrims. The surface of the relief is intentionally processed to look weathered, with cracks and chips, giving it an authentic historical character.
Material and Durability
Although the relief looks like heavy sandstone, it is made of special sculpting resin. This material is hard, durable, and allows the decoration to be placed outdoors (e.g., on a facade or in a gazebo). However, bear in mind that long-term exposure to sun and rain may slightly change the shade of the patina over time, which tends to add to the beauty of a historical replica.
