A Versatile Accessory for Your Costume
In times when pockets were not a common part of clothing, a belt pouch or bag was an absolute necessity for everyone. It was used to carry personal items, money, food for the journey, or tools. While this particular design is universal, its robust construction and stud decoration make it perfectly suited for Viking, medieval artisan, or pilgrim costumes, or for any fantasy character. The square shape is practical and offers a surprising amount of space for essentials.
Construction and Design
The pouch is made from genuinely thick cowhide leather (approx. 3.3 mm), which is firmly stitched and reinforced with rivets at key points. The flap has a decorative teardrop shape and, like the loop on the front, is secured with prominent studs. The closure is simple and functional: a longer leather strap on the flap is threaded through a strong leather loop on the body of the pouch. On the back, there are two sturdy leather loops that allow for secure and stable carrying on a belt up to 6 cm in width.
Care for Your Leather Product
As this is a genuine leather product, it will serve you for many years if you give it a little care. Protect the pouch from prolonged soaking. If it does get wet, let it dry slowly at room temperature (never on a heater!). Occasionally treat the leather with a suitable leather conditioner or wax to keep it supple and prevent cracking. Minor scratches and a developing patina are a natural part of this material's character.
