Symbolism: Two Knights on One Horse
The center of the shield is adorned with a large circular motif featuring an etching of the most famous Templar symbol: two knights riding on a single horse. This scene symbolized the order's original poverty and the bond between brothers in arms. The motif is surrounded by the Latin inscription in Gothic script: "SIGILLUM MILITUM XPISTI", translating to "Seal of the Soldiers of Christ." Above the seal stands the Templar Cross, and at the bottom, you will find a decorative knot (symbol of eternity). The corners of the shield are reinforced with decorative brass fittings, and the perimeter is lined with rivets.
Usage and Installation
This shield is designed as an exclusive wall decoration. The back is painted black and equipped with a sturdy metal chain for safe hanging. Please note that the etched motif on the shield is in reality subtler and less contrasted (less black) than in the illustrative photo.
