The original of this Viking brooch was found in Birka / Sweden and dates from the end of the 9th to the beginning of the 10th century. Equal Armed Brooches / Fibulae served e.g. as a closure for light capes or as a jewelry hanger on the center of the chest. It is a nice alternative to the usual Viking disc brooch.
