Japanese Polishing Rubber
Are you bothered by tiny scratches, surface rust, or unsightly patina on your favourite knife? Don't despair; you don't need to run to a professional sharpener just yet. This special polishing rubber, often called a "Rust Eraser," is a small miracle from Japan that should be in every knife enthusiast's kit. It works on a similar principle to a pencil eraser, but instead of graphite, it removes dirt, oxidation, and surface blemishes from metal. It is the ideal tool for finishing after sharpening or for reviving the look of older blades, whether they are kitchen knives, daggers, or swords. Further product information ...

Japanese Polishing Rubber "Rust Eraser" for Knife Blades
How It Works and What to Watch Out For
The rubber contains fine abrasive particles embedded in a flexible binder. This makes the block pliable, allowing it to adapt to the blade's contours better than a hard stone. Using it is intuitive and safe.
Instructions for Use:
- Cleaning: You can use the rubber dry or wet (with water or a little oil). Rub gently over the affected area, following the direction of the blade's grain (grind lines).
- Scratch Removal: The rubber effectively "erases" hairline scratches caused by use and unifies the steel surface.
- Note: Keep in mind that the rubber is abrasive. If you use it on a mirror-polished blade, it will turn the surface matte (satin). Conversely, for satin-finished blades, this is the best way to restore their original appearance.
Quality from the Land of the Samurai
This product is Made in Japan, a country with a millennial tradition of steel processing and sword making. This guarantees that the abrasive mixture is homogeneous and the rubber won't crumble as quickly as cheap substitutes. It is suitable for blades, but also for cleaning metal bolsters or pommels.
