Tactical Nylon Belt Holder for Tonfa Batons
Installation and Usage
The holder is designed for quick attachment. Simply wrap the nylon loop around your belt (suitable for most duty and standard belts up to approx. 5 cm / 2 inches wide) and secure it with the two metal press studs. These are strong enough to prevent accidental opening even during vigorous movement or running. Slide the long end of the tonfa through the plastic ring until it rests on the side handle. This keeps the weapon securely positioned along your thigh.

Historical Context: From Rice Mill to Riot Gear
The tonfa, known today as standard equipment for police forces worldwide, has its roots in Okinawa. Originally, it was the wooden handle of a rice or soy grinder. The inhabitants of Okinawa, who were forbidden from carrying swords, transformed this agricultural tool into an effective weapon within the martial art of Kobudo. The modern side-handle police baton began to spread massively in the US in the 1970s, necessitating the creation of specialised holders like this one, as unlike a standard truncheon, it cannot simply be tucked behind a belt.
Maintenance and Care
Nylon and polymer are low-maintenance materials. If the holder gets dirty with mud or dust, simply wipe it with a damp cloth or hand wash it in soapy water. However, avoid contact with open flames or extreme heat, which could melt the nylon fibres or the plastic ring. Take care in freezing conditions—even durable plastic can become brittle at temperatures well below zero, so avoid hard impacts on the empty ring.
