The Medieval Man's Second Skin
The shirt is designed with a focus on freedom of movement. It features a simple round neck without a collar, ensuring nothing chafes under a mail coif or tabard. The cut is intentionally loose (oversized), as was customary at the time—the fabric gathers around the body to create an insulating layer. Slits at the sides and front/back allow for comfortable sitting and wide lunges during fencing.
Material and Craftsmanship
While linen was primarily used in the Middle Ages, this shirt is made of high-quality 100% cotton in white. It offers high wearing comfort, breathability, and easy maintenance at an affordable price. It is ideal under a gambeson or as a sleeping shirt in camp.

The shirt is cut very loosely. When choosing a size, keep in mind that it is meant to be gathered on the body, not fitted tightly.

Product Care
To keep the shirt white and in shape for a long time:
- Wash by hand or on a gentle cycle in cold water (max. 30°C / 86°F).
- Use a mild detergent.
- Turn inside out before washing.
- Do not tumble dry; let it air dry naturally.
Recommended Accessories
For an authentic look, cinch the shirt at the waist with a simple leather belt and wear a wool tunic or gambeson over it. Don't forget the braies (underwear) and hose.
