Symbolism and History
The Fleur de Lis (flower of the lily) motive is one of the most famous symbols in heraldry. Although it is most strongly associated with the French monarchy and the House of Bourbon, its roots go much deeper. Legend has it that the Frankish King Clovis I adopted the lily as his emblem upon his baptism in the 5th century. It symbolizes purity, the Holy Trinity, but also royal power and nobility. Installation and Care
When mounting, ensure you use a wall plug and screw appropriate for your wall material (brick, drywall, wood). Since the holder is made of a cast alloy, proceed with care when tightening the screw to avoid cracking the material. As for maintenance, simply wiping the holders with a dry cloth to remove dust from time to time is sufficient. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasive pads, as they could damage the patina.
Safety Note
Although the holders are strong, they are not designed for extreme loads. They are ideal for pistols, daggers, rapiers, or lighter swords. If you intend to hang a heavy two-handed sword, ensure the wall anchoring is deep enough, but also keep in mind the load limits of the alloy hook itself.
