Heavy Duty Aluminium Arrow 30"

Are you looking for reliable ammunition for your more powerful bow? This 30-inch aluminium arrow is engineered to safely handle the shot energy from bows with a draw weight of up to 60 lbs. It represents an ideal choice for advanced archers who require higher durability and precision than ordinary wooden arrows can offer. Thanks to the duralumin shaft, the arrow is perfectly straight and immune to moisture. The blue anodized finish gives it a modern sporting look and makes it easier to find in the field. With this arrow, you get an excellent price-performance ratio, whether you are training on a target butt or engaging in 3D archery. Further product information ...

Heavy Duty Aluminium Arrow 30" – Blue Anodized

Features and Usage

This arrow is supplied as a complete "Ready to Shoot" set. It is fitted with a steel target point, a plastic nock, and polymer vanes in a red and yellow combination for good flight visibility. Compared to shorter and softer variants, this model is more robust. With a shaft diameter of 7.9 mm (approx. 5/16") and higher stiffness (spine), it is suitable for bows with a draw weight up to 60 lbs. This makes it universal ammunition for stronger recurve and compound bows (for compound bows, however, compatibility with the specific arrow rest must be verified). Aluminium is heavier than carbon, which gives the arrow stability and penetrating power, but also requires a quality backstop.

Why Choose Aluminium?

The introduction of aluminium tubes into arrow manufacturing in the 20th century marked a revolution in precision. Until then, every wooden arrow was an original with minor deviations. An aluminium arrow is an engineering product – one is exactly like the other. This allows you to concentrate on your shooting technique, knowing that if you miss, the fault lies not in the material. Aluminium is also recyclable and does not shatter into dangerous splinters like carbon when damaged, which increases handling safety.

Care and Safety

Although this arrow is built for stronger bows, the laws of physics still apply. To make it last as long as possible, keep in mind:

  • A Quality Backstop is Essential: With a 60 lbs bow, the arrow carries enormous energy. Shoot only into quality target butts (straw, ethafoam) that stop the arrow safely. If you hit a wooden stand, a stone, or a wall, the arrow will likely bend or the point will be destroyed.
  • Beware of Bending: Aluminium has shape memory only to a certain extent. If pulled carelessly from the target, the shaft can be permanently bent. Always pull arrows out along the axis of flight.
  • Inspection: Before every shooting session, check if the point is loose or the nock is damaged.

Since these are arrows for stronger bows, I recommend using finger protection (glove or tab) and an armguard to protect your forearm from the string slap.
