Revolutionary CRYO-T Steel Treatment
The heart of this knife is a blade made of proven Molybdenum-Vanadium stainless steel (MoVa). However, what takes the Gavilan model to the next level is the special cryogenic treatment called CRYO-T. During this process, the steel is subjected to extremely low temperatures, leading to an internal structural transformation of the material. The result is a much more homogeneous crystal lattice. In practice, this means the edge stays razor-sharp for longer, and the blade is tougher and more resistant to breakage and corrosion than conventionally treated steels.
Ergonomics and Secure Grip
The handle is shaped to fit your hand perfectly, whether you are bare-handed or wearing gloves. The scales are made of brown Micarta. This composite material of canvas and resin is legendary in the outdoor community – it is practically indestructible, does not absorb water, and provides a non-slip grip even when wet or bloody. At the end of the handle, you will find a lanyard hole with a paracord string, which serves as a safety feature to prevent the knife from slipping out of your hand during chopping tasks.
You will receive the knife with a precisely stitched sheath made of high-quality cowhide, featuring the manufacturer's logo and a strong snap button, so your knife will always be securely in place.

Care and Maintenance
To serve you for many years, the knife deserves a little care. Clean and dry it after use. Although the steel is stainless, a thin film of oil (e.g., gun oil or food-grade oil if you use the knife for food) is beneficial during long-term storage. Occasionally treat the leather sheath with a leather conditioner to prevent cracking and keep it supple.
Safety Warning
The knife is delivered very sharp and is intended for cutting and general camping activities. It is not a pry bar or a throwing knife. Rough handling (prying, throwing) risks damaging the tip or the edge. Never wash the knife in a dishwasher – aggressive salts and high temperatures would destroy the edge and the handle material.
