Hunting and Bushcraft Knife Muela Husky Full-Tang – Sandvik 14C28N
A Versatile Workhorse for Hunting and Outdoors
This knife is designed to handle a wide range of tasks. Its Drop Point blade is ideal for hunters (skinning, gutting), but thanks to the flat grind, it is also excellent for bushcraft activities, such as making feather sticks for fire starting or food preparation in camp. The full-tang construction (the tang runs through the entire handle) ensures maximum strength – you don't have to worry about the blade snapping off the handle during demanding work.
The manufacturer also paid attention to aesthetics and ergonomics. Under the handle scales, there are elegant contrasting liners made of black and white Micarta, giving the knife a stylish flair. The scales are attached to the steel with decorative hollow pins. You can thread a safety lanyard (paracord) through the rear hole, which you will appreciate especially when working over water or at heights. The knife comes with a precisely stitched leather sheath featuring the brand's logo, which securely holds the tool.
You can choose from two handle variations:
- Micarta (Green): An extremely durable composite material (canvas embedded in resin). It is maintenance-free, resistant to water and blood, and provides a non-slip grip even when wet. Supplied with a green leather sheath.
- Palisander (Brown): Exotic hardwood (Rosewood) with a beautiful grain. The ideal choice for traditionalists who prefer natural materials and a warm look. Supplied with a brown leather sheath.

The Tradition of Spanish Knife Making
The Muela brand hails from the Spanish city of Ciudad Real and is one of the family jewels of the European cutlery industry. While in the past hunters often used long hangers to finish off game, modern times have brought the need for more compact but extremely efficient cutting tools. The Husky model follows the tradition of universal hunting knives (skinners) that have evolved in Europe over centuries, but updates it with high-end cryogenically treated Sandvik steel. This steel was originally developed for razor blades, which tells you a lot about its edge retention capabilities.
Care and Maintenance
To serve you for years, the knife deserves a little attention. Clean and dry the blade after each use. Although Sandvik steel is stainless, it benefits from a thin layer of oil (e.g., gun oil or clove oil for food contact) during long-term storage. You can occasionally treat the wooden handle with beeswax or linseed oil. Maintain the leather sheath with leather conditioners to prevent cracking.
Safety Warnings
The knife is delivered very sharp. It is not designed for throwing, prying heavy objects, or use as a screwdriver – the tip could break. Caution: This knife does not belong in the dishwasher! Aggressive chemicals and high temperatures would ruin the handle and leather sheath and dull the blade.
We recommend you acquire a quality sharpening stone or a pocket sharpener to maintain the edge in the field.
