Harold Elegant Folding Knife with Wooden Handle and Engravings

A Blend of Tradition and Elegance

At first glance, the handle will catch your eye. The scales are made of dark wood with a distinct grain, which is pleasant to the touch and doesn't feel cold in your hand during winter. However, what makes this knife truly special are the metal bolsters at both ends of the handle. These are decorated with a fine relief floral ornament, giving the knife a touch of old times and luxury. The clip-point blade is made of proven 420 stainless steel and opens classically using a nail nick. Your safety is ensured by a Backlock mechanism on the spine, which reliably secures the blade against accidental closing.

Blade Length 75 mm (approx. 3 inches)
Total Length (Open) approx. 175 mm (approx. 6.9 inches)

Return to Gentleman's Knives

This type of knife references the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, when a pocket knife was an essential part of every man's equipment. It did not serve primarily as a weapon or a tool for rough work, but as a universal helper—to sharpen a quill pen, cut a snack, open a letter, or cut string. The decoration on the fittings was a sign of the owner's taste. The Harold knife revives this tradition and brings it into the modern era in an affordable form.

Knife Care

To keep your knife beautiful and functional for a long time, give it a little care:

  • Wood: The scales are made of natural material. Occasionally rub them with a cloth and a little linseed oil or beeswax so the wood doesn't dry out and keeps its colour.
  • Cleaning: Never wash the knife in a dishwasher! Water and aggressive salts would destroy the wood and the mechanism. After use, simply wipe it with a damp and then a dry cloth.
  • Edge: 420 steel is easy to sharpen. To maintain a razor-sharp edge, occasional stropping or use of a fine whetstone is sufficient.

Safety Warning

Be careful when closing the knife. The Backlock safety is released by pressing the lever on the handle spine—make sure your fingers are not in the path of the blade when closing. The knife is intended for cutting, not prying (e.g., opening paint cans), as this could damage the tip or the pivot.

I recommend purchasing a leather belt pouch for this elegant knife to protect it from scratches caused by keys in your pocket.
