The core of the TwinStrike TAC2 is the Over/Under Rail System. Unlike complex compound systems, Excalibur uses two stacked recurve rails, providing two independent strings, limbs, and triggers. The front trigger fires the top rail, while the back trigger controls the bottom rail. This allows you to instantly correct a shot or engage a second target without the need for manual recocking between shots.

Safety is paramount with such a high-performance machine. The CeaseFire™ Technology ensures the crossbow will not fire unless an arrow is properly loaded. Recommended Arrow Specifications

For optimal performance and safety, use Excalibur Quill™ 16.5-inch carbon arrows. These must be fitted with Rhino Nocks to engage the CeaseFire anti-dry fire system correctly. A total arrow weight of approximately 350–400 grains is recommended to ensure the limbs absorb energy efficiently while maintaining a flat trajectory.

Maintenance and Best Practices

To keep your TwinStrike TAC2 in top condition, wax the strings regularly and apply a thin layer of rail lubricant to the flight tracks. This reduces friction and extends the life of your servings. Periodically check that all mounting bolts are tight. Never dry-fire the crossbow! Even with the safety mechanisms, firing without an arrow can cause catastrophic damage to the limbs. Avoid using underweight arrows, as they do not provide enough resistance, which can stress the components similarly to a dry fire.
