Pro Tips and Maintenance

To keep your Excalibur performing at its peak, regularly wax the string (avoiding the centre serving) and apply rail lube to the track to reduce friction. One of the best things about a recurve is that you can change the string yourself in the field using a stringing aid—something compound shooters simply can't do. Always check that the bolts are tight after a long practice session, as the high energy of the RevX can cause vibrations.

Crucial Warnings: Never dry-fire the crossbow. Even with the CeaseFire system, attempting to fire without an arrow can put immense stress on the limbs. Avoid using arrows that are too light; they won't absorb enough energy from the limbs, potentially causing damage. After use in damp conditions, wipe down the metal components and apply a light coat of oil to prevent any surface rust.

Recommended Accessories and Arrow Specs

For the best results, we recommend using Excalibur ProFlight arrows. If you choose to use third-party arrows, ensure they meet these requirements:

• Arrow Length: 16.5"
• Shaft Material: High-modulus Carbon
• Nock Type: Rhino Nock is mandatory for the CeaseFire system to engage properly
• Field Point Weight: 100gr or 125gr

We also suggest picking up a broadhead wrench for safe handling of hunting tips and a heavy-duty target rated for speeds over 400 FPS. An arrow puller will also save your hands, as these high-speed arrows penetrate deep into target butts!
