Leather-bound notebooks, or codices, began replacing cumbersome scrolls in history as early as Late Antiquity. This specific model draws inspiration from Celtic art and modern Wiccan traditions. The Triple Moon symbol (waxing, full, and waning) refers to the archetypes of the Maiden, the Mother, and the Crone. The Celtic knots in the corners are endless lines with no beginning or end, which historically were believed to protect the book's contents from evil forces. Such decorated grimoires were once the rare possessions of the chosen few, preserving knowledge that was never to be forgotten.

Maintenance and Safety Warnings

To ensure your journal lasts for many years, we recommend treating the leather occasionally with a quality leather balm containing beeswax. We recommend writing or drawing on the pages with pencils, ballpoint pens, coloured pencils, charcoal, or oil paints. However, strictly avoid using liquid ink or watercolours – due to the high absorbency of the handmade paper, the colours may bleed and ruin your entries.

Do not expose the journal to open flames or high temperatures, as the leather may crack and the paper could ignite. The inset stone is glued; handle it with care to avoid mechanical damage.
