Potency and Mechanism
The active ingredient is an 11% solution of Oleoresin Capsicum (OC), a potent derivative of hot peppers. When directed at the eyes, nose, or muzzle of an attacking animal, it causes immediate and severe irritation, temporary blindness, and disorientation, effectively stopping the attack and buying you time to escape. The 50ml volume is sufficient for multiple short bursts.
Designed with safety in mind, the canister features a spring-loaded flip-top cap. This prevents accidental discharge while carrying it in a bag or pocket but allows for rapid deployment when needed—simply slide your thumb under the safety lid and press down.
Usage and Safety
This spray allows you to maintain a safe distance, with an effective range of up to 4 meters (approx. 13 feet). Aim directly at the face of the aggressor for maximum effect.
- Legal Note: In Germany, this product is labelled as an animal deterrent ("Tierabwehrspray"). Regulations regarding the possession and use of pepper spray against humans vary significantly by country. Please check your local laws before purchasing.
- First Aid: In case of accidental exposure, rinse eyes with cold water for several minutes. Wash skin with soap and water; do not rub. Seek fresh air.
