The handle of this specific model is crafted from wenge, a dense tropical hardwood prized for its incredible durability and striking dark brown texture. The 70 mm (approx. 2.75 inches) blade is precisely forged from premium 440 stainless steel. This globally recognised knife-making steel is highly valued for its excellent corrosion resistance and its ability to hold a wicked edge for a very long time. The blade also features an attractive fuller (blood groove) that reduces weight and improves aesthetics. A practical leather lanyard is threaded through a stainless steel tube at the pommel.
Traditional Mechanism and Proper Maintenance
To open the blade, the knife utilises a classic and time-tested nail nick, making it a two-handed opening knife that is perfectly legal to carry in most jurisdictions. Once opened, the blade is firmly locked in place by a highly secure backlock mechanism, effectively preventing any accidental closure during heavy use. Regarding maintenance, 440 stainless steel is very forgiving. After cutting damp materials, we simply recommend wiping the blade completely dry. The wenge wood handle scales should occasionally be gently rubbed with boiled linseed oil or beeswax. This simple routine will protect the timber against drying out and cracking and keep its dark colour rich. The included leather slip pouch also deserves regular treatment with a quality leather balm.

Even though this is a very elegant and gentlemanly piece, the knife is supplied from the factory with a razor-sharp blade. Please always bear in mind that it is a fully functional cutting tool. For strict safety reasons, this product is absolutely not intended for contact fencing, martial arts training, or self-defence. Whenever cutting, always ensure you direct the edge safely away from your body and fingers.
