The pommel is equipped with a stainless steel lanyard tube, through which a practical leather thong is threaded, making it much easier to draw the knife from its pouch.

Traditional Mechanism and Proper Maintenance

To open the blade, the knife utilises a classic and time-tested nail nick, establishing it as a two-handed opening knife that is perfectly legal to carry in most countries. Once opened, the blade is firmly locked in place by a highly secure backlock mechanism, effectively preventing any accidental closure during use. Regarding maintenance, 440 stainless steel is very forgiving. After cutting damp or acidic foods, we strongly recommend rinsing the blade and wiping it completely dry. The olive wood handle scales should occasionally be gently rubbed with boiled linseed oil or beeswax. This simple routine will preserve the wood's stunning grain and protect it against drying out and cracking. The included leather slip pouch also deserves regular treatment with a quality leather balm.

Even though this is a very elegant and gentlemanly piece, the knife is supplied from the factory with a razor-sharp blade. Please always bear in mind that it is a fully functional cutting tool. For strict safety reasons, this product is absolutely not intended for contact fencing, martial arts training, or self-defence.
