The handle scales are made of Micarta. This is a high-pressure composite of canvas and durable resin that is an absolute hit in the outdoor community. Micarta provides an unbeatable non-slip grip, even when your hands are wet, sweaty, or dirty. Furthermore, it is impervious to moisture, does not crack, and is extremely resistant to wear and tear.
Proper Care for the Blade and Leather Sheath
Even though the knife is made of modern, highly durable materials, it deserves occasional maintenance. After every heavy use, clean the blade of any resin or food residue and wipe it completely dry. Before storing the knife for an extended period, it is advisable to treat the steel with a thin film of gun or blade oil. The knife comes with a high-quality leather sheath in an elegant dark brown colour, featuring sturdy stitching for secure belt carry. To prevent the leather from drying out and cracking over time, we recommend regularly treating it with a beeswax-based leather balm.
