A Fairy Woven from Hearts

The journal's cover is crafted from genuine buffalo leather, which is vegetable-tanned and dyed a deep, forest green hue. The most interesting feature is the embossing, which uses a unique technique – the fairy motif itself is left in a lighter, natural shade, which contrasts with the surrounding green. The figure wears a dress full of hearts and holds a wand or spray, from which more hearts are flying.

The journal closes securely with a leather strap and a robust, patinated metal clasp (a C-hook or swing hook) in an antiqued-brass finish. The spine is adorned with a visible cross-stitch binding, executed with a contrasting black thread.

Paper as Old as Time Itself

What makes this journal truly exceptional is its paper. Inside, you'll find 100 leaves (200 pages) of handmade paper. It's made from a blend of recycled paper and cotton, giving it a texture reminiscent of jute and canvas. It is unlined and, most importantly, has a distinct, deep yellow to ochre patina. Each page is an original with uneven, deckled edges and looks like it's from a centuries-old chronicle.

A Note on the Paper: Due to its rough and absorbent texture, the paper is ideal for ballpoint pens, pencils, or crayons. Acrylics may also work. However, we do not recommend using fountain pens or watercolours, as they will bleed and feather heavily on this paper.

How to Care for Your Journal

Protect the journal from water and excessive moisture – the handmade paper is especially absorbent! If the leather gets damp, let it air dry slowly at room temperature (never on a radiator). For maintenance, you can *very sparingly* treat the leather with a conditioner, but be careful that the product doesn't stain the light-coloured embossing or alter the green shade too much.
