Leather Journal Horse Head "Gallop to Greatness", Vintage Style, Yellow Paper, 20.5x15 cm

Old Advertisement-Style Design

The cover of this journal is crafted from genuine buffalo leather, which has been vegetable-tanned. The surface has a distinct, handcrafted patina, giving the journal a weathered, antique look. The entire cover is covered in deep embossing that resembles the design of old newspapers, advertisements, or ledgers from the 19th century.

The central motif is a horse's head with a bridle, surrounded by a laurel wreath. Below it, the motto "Gallop to Greatness" is embossed within a decorative cartouche. You'll also find other inscriptions like "Finest" and "Horse Shoe". The journal closes securely with a leather strap and a robust, antiqued-brass-coloured metal clasp (a C-hook or swing hook). The spine is adorned with a traditional cross-stitch binding in a contrasting reddish-brown.

Antique Parchment Paper

What makes this journal truly exceptional is its paper. Inside, you will find 100 leaves (200 pages) of handmade paper, which is made from virgin cotton and is acid-free. It is not white – it is intentionally crafted with a deep, yellow patina, a rough texture, and deckled edges. It looks and feels like a blend of jute and canvas, lending an incredibly authentic, ancient feel to your writings.

  • Personal diary or training log for equestrians and horse lovers.

Warning and Care

Important Note on the Paper: Due to its rough and absorbent texture, the paper is ideal for ballpoint pens, pencils, or crayons. Acrylics may also work. However, we do not recommend using fountain pens or watercolours, as they will bleed and feather heavily on this paper.

Leather is a natural material. Protect the journal from water. If it gets damp, let it air dry slowly at room temperature. For maintenance, you can *very sparingly* treat the leather with a leather conditioner, but be aware that any oil or wax-based product will alter (usually darken) the character of the patina.
